Legal Advisor

Accountable To

To provide legal counsel to the senior management team on control and management of legal and corporate affairs for the Company. To advise on overall strategy from a legal standpoint by communicating issues, legal risks, opportunities and trends. To support internal departments through legal consulting including contracting, due diligence, litigation and ensure adherence to legal provisions and protection of company’s rights. The role holder also ensures compliance of the company to relevant laws and corporate governance.

Responsible for

  • Provide legal advices to ADPC Units to safeguard the Company interests and ensure that the Company transactions/activities are conducted in compliance with the law
  • Provide advice on daily activities with regard to Company transactions and contracts / agreements
  • Provide legal opinion and counsel on all transactions in line with policies and procedures and provide legal approvals in order to minimise financial, legal and reputational risks
  • Create long-term compliance strategies and establish compliance-related standards and procedures that support legal and operational compliance with all laws, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Prepare and present reports (as required) to the Company’s CEO, COO and senior management to appraise them of the progress of compliance initiatives and to keep them abreast of significant decisions, legislation and regulatory rulings that may affect the Company’s business or policy
  • Assist in preparing and establishing appropriate legal documents / policies / procedures to enable the Company performance and compliance with rules and regulations
  • Review, draft and validate all financial, regulatory, governmental, IT and other contractual agreements to ensure that they are in compliance with the legal provisions with the legal provisions and uphold the interests of the Company
  • Assist Lawyers in completing the Legal Due Diligence process for each transaction within the prescribed timeline in order to ensure effective functioning of the Legal Department
  • Review all contracts and other legal documents for terms & conditions that may be areas of concern, clarity of content and grammar and highlight the same for subsequent review and action
  • Maintain a record of all corporate and commercial documents, agreements, property papers and rights agreements etc. including certified copies obtained from various authorities in safe custody
  • Liaise with external lawyers / counsellors to solicit advice on matters within their jurisdiction

  • Prepare legal documents / briefs for External Councils to handle all legal matters

Qualifications/Experience/Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law or equivalent LLM/PHD from a recognized University
  • Written and spoken proficiency in Arabic and English is essential

Experience in law practice in contracts, constructions, projects and relevant industries
