Description

The Director, Proactive Risk Mitigation will have primary responsibility to ensure the proactive identification and mitigation of risk through relentless collection and evaluation of data insights. The incumbent will partner closely with the internal team members, Enterprise Emerging Technology & Solutions (ET&S) Team, Procurement and JJIT colleagues to help shape technology roadmaps to ensure opportunities to advance supplier reliability through digital or technological solutions are included for assessment.

He/she will support the Supplier Reliability Bold Aspirational Measure team to ensure that innovation, digital and data analytics are integrated into the Enterprise Supplier Reliability strategy and roadmap to advance the Q&C vision of supplier reliability driven through leverage of data using proactive/predictive tools and latest technologies/trends with connection and alignment to the Q&C Long Range Financial Plan (LRFP).

This individual will lead a team poised to ensure opportunities for collection of data and insight are leveraged across J&J to shape a comprehensive risk assessment. This individual and team will define and communicate risk measures, heat maps or other tools developed to communicate risk areas across the broader supply base. In addition, this team will work with Enterprise and Segment Supplier Quality teams and procurement to facilitate the shaping of associated mitigation plans to improve supplier reliability.

Major Duties/Responsibilities

Integrate digital technologies and analytics strategies into Enterprise Supplier Reliability Roadmap

  • Develop strategy to advance digital and analytical capability for Supplier Quality with a focus on Supplier Reliability. Ensure inclusion in Enterprise Supplier Reliability Roadmap through coordination with Supplier Reliability Bold Aspirational Measure team, and in alignment with Enterprise Emerging Technologies and Solutions, Procurement Corporate Tier and IT.

  • Ensure innovation and advanced analytics insights included in strategy address supplier reliability concerns and meet the needs of supply chain and customers.

  • Enable Data Analytics through data and systems integration planning.

  • Mature descriptive analytics and transform them to become predictive.

  • Support feasibility assessment/implementation process for digital technology solutions (ex= supplier performance and predictive analytics solutions) through creation of business case, funding request documentation or other supporting activities as required.

Focus on Uncovering Innovative Solutions

  • Through internal and external benchmarking, evaluate various technology trends and innovations to form actionable insights that fuel innovation.

  • Promote a culture of innovation within Supplier Quality through engagement with segment and Enterprise teams, sharing of best practices and celebration of innovative success stories.

  • Support build-up of innovation capabilities where required.

  • Act as Enterprise Supplier Reliability central point of contact with other innovation communities across J&J

Shape and leverage dynamic risk assessment processes

  • Partner with related initiatives such as Supplier Risk Sensing from Procurement, IM Q&C Risk Nerve Center, etc. to shape and build dynamic and integrated risk assessment programs; including predictive risk sensing capabilities.

  • Leverage data to form valuable insights to shape risk profile for supplier base.

  • Leverage dynamic, comprehensive risk profiles as foundation for risk-based procedures.

  • Provide subject matter expertise in dynamic risk assessment program to educate/train E2E segment colleagues to leverage for supplier monitoring and control purposes.

Qualifications

  • Required Minimum Education : Bachelor’s Degree required

  • Strong business acumen, including demonstrated experience in identifying and leveraging analytics and data for business problem solving

  • Strong influencing skills with ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and understand differing needs of stakeholders (e.g., Segments, Procurement, IT, R&D, Supply Chain)

  • Deep understanding of data, IT systems and emerging technological advances and the demonstrated ability to connect business needs with technology solutions to drive value creation

  • Project management experience, to include resource management, FTE demand, risk analysis, cost optimization

  • Forward thinker with a proactive mindset and a track record of delivering innovative solutions to business challenges

  • Executive presence and the ability to drive decisions and influence multiple stakeholders and partners

  • Strong understanding of innovative applications for, various risk management and risk mitigation tools and practices (for example, mistake proofing, critical control points, failure mode and effects analysis)

  • Proven ability to identify and manage risk, including escalation, prioritization and resolution of Quality issues.

  • Experience in leading ideation events and/or in innovation methodologies (ex = Design Thinking, Agile, Lean etc.)

  • Demonstrated strong communication ((verbal, written and visual) and networking ability at a global level to execute with cross-functional stakeholders/partners and ability to influence without authority.

  • Project or Program management experience

  • Financial acumen including experience with business case development and business planning process

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through change and serve as a change agent

  • Strong leadership, vison setting, and talent development skills are required with a proven track record in attracting and developing talent

  • 5 years of People Management Experience Required

  • Travel < 20% domestic and international

The base pay range for this position is $160,000 – $276,000.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
