Clinical Activities:
In accordance with regulations of the Texas Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners, the LVN will perform direct care in the health center, community, and home.
Interviews clients and records medical/psychosocial information in electronic medical records.
Participates in performing quality assurance and checks on lab specimens and preparing specimens for transport.
Administers/reads tuberculosis skin tests as needed.
Draws blood samples, performs vision/hearing screening, weights/heights and takes vital signs.
Assists the RN Coordinator, Midlevel Providers, Physicians, and Program Director in tracking and monitoring of abnormal lab results and reschedules lapsed appointments.
Dispenses prescribed medication according to Pharmacy D regulations and HCPH procedures and protocols.
Assists in preparing statistical reports.
Maintains confidentiality of client’s information.
Maintains knowledge of CDC recommended vaccines and administers age appropriate immunizations as required.
Administrative Duties:
Assists with inventory/replenishes needed supplies.
Arranges dated supplies in order of expiration.
Provides information to the community on the resettlement of refugees when requested.
Acts as an alternate immunization coordinator for the Department of State Health Services Vaccine for Children Program.
Other Duties:
Performs other duties as assigned, including special tasks involved in responding to an emergency event.

Requirements
Diploma from an accredited school of Vocational Nursing.
LVN license to practice by the State of Texas Board of Nursing.
Two (2) years of experience as an LVN in a public health, community health setting, family practice, clinical or hospital setting.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Experience navigating through electronic medical records.

Preferences
Experience working with refugees or global health.

SALARY:
Commensurate with experience.
Based on 26 pay periods.
