PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Rwanga Foundation will continue to foster the skills and capacities of employees working in the private sector. This implication is a part of the previous project implemented in KRI funded by GIZ. Rwanga Foundation has set a plan to continue enhancing skills development of both employees’ capacity to work and their opportunities at work. This approach will offer more scope for creativity and satisfaction at work.

The project is designed based on the previous project to support the private sector employees in boosting their workplace performance. This project seeks youth empowerment in the three targeted governorates; (Erbil, Sulaimani, and Duhok) to enhance employee employability and productive engagement. These kinds of training and development are considered as an essential element of strategy. Most employers have realized that providing technical support and development to the employees serves as employee motivation, but it also enables the companies/ organization to create a highly-skilled workforce.  Moreover, it is a unique opportunity for employers, mainly in the private sector, to develop the capacity of their employees by the provision of different employment skills which the companies required. Therefore, employers usually emphasize seeking the right skills and competencies for their companies. These are abroad competencies and behaviors that are essential for a prosperous working place. These are the critical employability skills and the core skills that will make the employees more effective. These skills are sometimes known as transferable skills because they develop over time and take them with the employers as their careers develop.

The project’s overall objective is to improve young people’s employability skills in the private sector by empowering 300 youths with training courses and advisory services, focusing on female and male youth aged 18-35. In addition, this project aims to improve the skills and capabilities of 300 employees in various areas per employee needs, for instance, HR and recruiting management, Financial management, Skill training where employees will gain the knowledge and abilities necessary to fulfill the specific requirements for their job positions in three Kurdistan region governorates (Erbil, Sulaimani, and Duhok).

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Prepare Purchase Requisition (PR) based on the Requisition from department,
  2. Prepare Logistics vehicle tracking sheets and fuel reports monthly,
  3. Manage fleet movements, as well as ensure proper insurance coverage and safe running conditions of the vehicles,
  4. Provide transport in an official car within a flexible time arrangement (on weekends, holidays, or after office working hours) for program staff, official visitors, and other guests,
  5. Ensure appropriate fleet management during the emergency,
  6. Calculate petrol, oil, and lubricant monthly consumption for cash fund and forward monthly vouchers received from the supplier to settle with Finance,
  7. Maintain a report and take appropriate action of all office vehicles for minor/major accidents, damage, loss, or theft of vehicle fittings,
  8. Responsible to keep a regular checks for the vehicle documents and their good condition, checking the vehicle log and recording monthly maintenance,
  9. Ensure to regularly check for oil, water, brakes, and brake liquid, tire pressure, battery levels, and the entire vehicle, monthly or every 3,000 km (whichever is first), headlights, brakes, bodywork for dents, etc.
  10. Assist in tracking assets procured for Rwanga Foundation and excessive stocks of equipment are documented and stored properly in coordination with Assets Coordinator,
  11. Monitor and track the project assets and consumables to ensure there is no waste, fraud or misuse of equipment or materials and that surplus or excessive stocks of equipment are documented and stored properly,
  12. Ensure all stocks and equipment is stored safely, correctly and securely depending upon the item classifications,
  13. Conduct Bid Analysis of suppliers in the absence of the Procurement Officer in full compliance with Rwanga Foundation regulations,
  14. Manage logistics and procurement-related transactions filing system,
  15. Checks and prepares invoices for payments according to Rwanga Finance rules and regulations,
  16. Maintain and keep all the records for internal control sessions conducted by donors auditors or other related external audits for Inventory,
  17. Processing and expediting Ministry of Defense documentation for any incoming and outgoing shipment when it is related to shipping or freight forwarding activities,
  18. Perform any other ad hoc duties as and when assigned.
  19. The location for the position will be in KOYA

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  1. Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills,
  2. Knowledge of principles and methods for transportation, including the relative costs and benefits,
  3. Excellent computer knowledge, especially in MS-Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.,
  4. Ability to communicate in Kurdish and English. Another language is a plus,
  5. Use constructive judgment and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in logistics operations activity and procedures,
  6. Ability to work consistently and under pressure – independently and as a part of the team to meet deadlines,
  7. Strong personal initiative with a willingness to accept responsibilities,
  8. Good communication skills including the ability to prepare reports and briefings,
  9. Ability to establish priorities, to plan, coordinate and monitor work plans,
  10. Good negotiating skills and ability to influence others to reach for an agreement,
  11. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships within the team,
  12. Obtaining the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work.

 

Working conditions

  • Flexible with working hours, working during holidays and under pressure,
  • Flexible to attend meetings, conventions, pieces of training, and workshops outside duty station,
  • Able to travel within the country and overseas.
