- Diploma degree.
- Arabic: mother tongue; English: Fluent
- Excellent knowledge of and practical experience with MS Office, especially with Excel (Excel Experience in coaching or training on data entry or data collection, in particular, is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel frequently and under the particular travel requirements of the assignment
- Good understanding of humanitarian principles and humanitarian processes, in particular humanitarian standards for assessments, monitoring, and accountability.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Leadership skills and ability to coordinate well and can direct people.
- Able to work both independently and in a hard environment.
- Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations.
Background:
Sahara Economic Development Organization (SEDO) is Iraqi National NGO, it’s established in November 2007 as an independent NGO with its main office in Tikrit city. It focuses on developing the economic sector through providing business management training courses and counselling services to entrepreneurs and potential investors to enable them to efficiently contribute to the local economy. SEDO is considered among the most effective and qualified organizations in Iraq. It has conducted economic studies on the business environment in Iraq, identifying business opportunities and market niches for potential investors in Iraq. SEDO started humanitarian intervention in Iraq to respond for the urgent need for our beneficiaries, it works in WASH, Livelihood, protection, Food security and Education sectors.
ROLE PURPOSE:
The MEAL Assistant will be a part of the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) team, supporting the implementation of the overall Iraq MEAL Strategy. They will assist the MEAL team with activities, including data collection, database management and analysis, implementing post-distribution monitoring as well as being the focal point for PDM and accountability to target communities. The MEAL Assistant will support all efforts for promoting a high level of beneficiary accountability and will manage the feedback mechanism. The MEAL Assistant will work closely with the MEAL Officer to support data entry and management as needed. They will generally support the MEAL team and programme team to ensure learning and accountability systems are working effectively in our emergency response.
Responsibilities:
- Support the MEAL officer to ensure project MEAL Plans are rolled out at the field level in an efficient and effective manner.
- Carry out field visits and collect and manage all requested project data as per project MEAL Plan.
- Ensure data entry as needed and carry out basic analytical tasks.
Participate in the organisation of initial kick-off meetings for each project.
- Participate in regular project reviews using the Tools (activity, indicators, hypothesis and beneficiary follow-up).
- Participate in lessons learnt or action review workshops.
- Support programmes in data collection, analysis and reporting.
- Contribute to project quality and accountability through field visits.
- providing support to the programme team and promoting appropriate tools and mechanisms to enhance the quality delivery of projects.
- Support project-specific assessments (baseline, end line) and a multi-sectorial needs assessment and support in the beneficiary selection process.
- Contribute to the development of monthly, quarterly, annual and donor reports.
- Support internal and external project evaluations, and learning exercises.
- Provide timely information to the country management team about risks related to the projects.
- A report performed activities and achievements to the line supervisor.
- Participate in other M&E and communications initiatives as needed.
- Perform any other duties related as may be assigned by the supervisor.
