General

Mercy Hands for Humanitarian Aid (MH) is a leading Iraqi NGO, founded in 2004 with the goal to save lives and preserve human dignity. MH is active in several humanitarian sectors including: food security, livelihoods, protection, education and community development. MH in partnership with Mercy Corps (MC) is implementing a project in Sinjar Governorate with the aim of Building Resilience Against Violent Extremism (BRAVE) funded by GIZ.

Under the overall guidance and supervision of the MEAL Director, the Project Manager and the Field Coordinator, the MEAL Officer will conduct the monitoring and evaluation activities according to the framework and project implementation requirements.

 

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Implementation of monitoring and evaluation framework and tools.
  • Monitor and record project indicators.
  • Conduct monitoring and evaluation activities according to the M&E Plan.
  • Submit weekly internal M&E reports and highlight any concerns.
  • Manage complaints and feedback from the community and beneficiaries and keep up-to-date files of these.
  • Manage data collection processes and analysis.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all data presented to stakeholders, including donors, local authorities, partners and beneficiaries, among others.
  • Facilitate & participate in the project’s activity (monitoring & evaluation, logistics, visibility, administration).
  • Assist in translation (Kurmanji / Arabic / English).

 

  • Minimum level of education: Bachelor Degree in related field.

 

  • Experience & Skills:
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in M&E in a relevant field.
    • Experience in working with logframes and other M&E tools.
    • Experience in data collection and developing M&E reports.
    • Experience using M&E software, tools and information management platforms for reporting.
    • Shows initiative, flexibility, and team work spirit.
    • Ability to work under pressure.
    • Decision making, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
    • Ability to positively represent MH and the project at all times.
    • Great communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to work independently and within a team.
    • Good computer skills (MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Ability to work in Kurmanji, Arabic and English (written and spoken).
