CRS Iraq is supporting conflict-affected people to live in dignity through the provision of critical relief
items, upgrades to shelter conditions and improved access to water and sanitation facilities, educational
and psychosocial (PSS) support for children, and livelihoods support. Through the Establishing
Sustainable Livelihoods for Conflict-Affected Iraqis project, CRS aims to support vulnerable households in
Iraq achieve durable solutions in areas of displacement (Duhok) and return (Ninewa). Project activities
will focus on new business start-up, business restoration for pre-conflict businesses owners, and
development of community resources for accessing complementary services.
Job Summary:
As a member of the PRM-funded livelihoods team, the MEAL Project Assistant is responsible for
supporting the implementation of high-quality MEAL activities. Under the guidance and supervision of
the MEAL Project Officer and Livelihoods Program Manager, the MEAL Project Assistant’s role will focus
on ensuring that high-quality project data is readily available to inform program adjustments and
evidence-based decision-making.
Roles and Key Responsibilities:
• Support MEAL activities and collect data at the field level, per the MEAL plan, through collection
of data including, but not limited to, beneficiary identification and verification, indicator progress
monitoring, light monitoring activities, periodic evaluation, post-distribution monitoring surveys,
etc.
• Accurately input data in the project data management system in a timely manner and perform
data quality checks of data input by other project staff and partners.
• Organize and file project MEAL documents with adherence to principles of responsible data
management.
• Contribute to ensuring accountability to project beneficiaries and local stakeholders.
• Provide specialized project administrative transactions and processes (e.g. translate, type,
proofread, and/or format documents; record and transcribe meeting minutes).
• Prepare transactional documents in support of project operations processes and support and
facilitate coordination of transaction processing (coordinating MEAL field worker payments,
raising requisition forms and advance requests, and preparing materials for data collection
activities, workshops, trainings, and learning events)
• Support implementation of property management processes, such as property receipt and
distribution, property labeling, physical counts, etc. for MEAL property.
• Perform other functions and deliver other high-quality outputs as determined necessary and
relevant to the project.
Basic
Basic Qualifications
• University degree required.
• Minimum 1-2 years’ work or volunteer experience in supporting MEAL activities with a local or
international NGO
• Skilled in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Internet
• Experience in mobile data collection is an advantage
Required Languages – Spoken and written English and Arabic fluency required. Knowledge of Assyrian,
Yezidi, Shabaki, Turkmen, or Kurdish a plus.
Travel – The position can be based in Erbil, Dohuk, or Mosul, with up to 50% travel to other CRS offices,
project sites, or partner offices in Erbil, Duhok, and Ninewa governorates.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No official supervisory responsibilities; however, the Project Assistant will
be involved in overseeing data collection activities with enumerators during data collection activities per
project’s detailed activity plan

Internal: Livelihoods Program Manager; MEAL and PQ Coordinator; Livelihoods Project Manager; MEAL
Project Officer; Senior Project Officer, Project Officers, and Field Assistant; Livelihoods Community
Mobilizers; data enumerators; procurement and finance staff
External: Caritas MEAL Officer; project partners; other operational partners and colleague organizations
