GLOBAL OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:

 

Based in Kirkuk, under the line management of the MHPSS Project Manager, the MHPSS Project Officer (PO) is responsible for assisting the Project Manager in carrying out the duties of

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS DESCRIPTION

 

  1. Implementation of MADAD MASS Project activities
  • Organize, coordinate and support MADAD MASS project activities, under the supervision of the MHPSS PM related to, but not limited to, MhGAP, trainings, PSS awareness raising campaigns, light rehabilitation of PHCCs
  • Monitor, through field visits and coordination with HI Security and Liaison Officer, areas of intervention, target population, methodology of intervention and suggest operational strategy and potential adaptations in coordination with the PM
  • Ensure the implementation of the EU MADAD MASS activities according to the objectives defined in the project
  • Work with the MHPSS Project Manager on ensuring the activities are carried out on time and in accordance with the project budget

 

  1. Organize, coordinate and support the HI team members within MHPSS Project.
  • Create and manage the daily, weekly and monthly activities of the team members and their movements in the field.
  • Identify, document and report on technical and operational challenges and successes
  • Ensure coordination of project team members (Accessibility Project Officer, MHPSS Technical Officer, MEAL and Database Officer, PSS workers)
  • Provide operational support for MHPSS awareness campaign activities
  • Support the team in accurately completing attendance sheets, leave requests, travel allowance forms, etc. in a timely manner and according to HR procedures
  • Support in the HR procedures and management of the PSS Workers.

 

  1. Ensure monitoring and reporting of activities
  • Provide weekly and monthly reporting to the PM in order to answer to the program needs
  • Support the team in completing correctly all the required reporting tasks (statistics, field activity reports, etc.)
  • Provide a qualitative and quantitative report on a weekly and a monthly basis.as requested by Project Manager
  • Ensure reporting is conducted accurately, with attention to detail on the content, and excellent professional writing standards to ensure accountability measures are upheld

 

  1. Liaise with local stakeholders, authorities upon request of the PM
  • Meet with, and coordinate meetings with, DoH MHPSS Focal Point on a consistent basis to ensure a participatory relationship with the Consortium
  • Meet on regular basis the different stakeholders (local associations, authorities, PHCC Focal Points, Community-Based Organizations, Consortium Partners etc.) when requested
  • Attend relevant Working Group meetings in Kirkuk and Erbil
  • Create and maintain a network in the area of operation

 

  1. Logistics’ follow up

In close coordination with HI Logistics Department in Kirkuk:

  • Organize the movements to the field and share it with the logistics department in a timely manner
  • Support the Accessibility Project Officers activities in the preparation of Bills and Quantity and Tenders
  • Lead all logistics processes of the MHPSS Trainer
  • Support awareness raising campaign with all logistical requirements (Billboards installation and printing of IEC materials)

 

  1. Other tasks
  • Support in basic day-to-day translation of documents as needed; coordinate with Kirkuk translator for larger translation needs
  • Address needs and requests in a professional way
  • Demonstrate leadership capacity and potential for growth in this area
  • Demonstrate willingness to improve professional competences and abilities
  • Demonstrate motivation at work
  • Demonstrate willingness to improve own knowledge and skills by participating actively in any training sessions and capacity building activities

Note that this job description must remain flexible, to respond to additional tasks or changes as identified by the line manager.

 

TIME SCHEDULE:

 

The working hours are the following:

Sunday till Thursday, from 8.00 AM to 16.30 PM with 30 minutes lunch break.  The work duration is fixed but the working hours can vary according to the planning of activities. It can be exceptionally requested to work on Friday or Saturday. In that case a day off is planned between Sunday and Thursday during the previous or following week.

 

Note that working time can go up to 48 hours per week if it is required by the volume of activities and by the line manager. In that case the overtime will be considered as recovery time to be planned by the line manager in the next days.

Required profile

  • Education: University degree in social work, psychology or a related field
  • Languages: Excellent Arabic and English mandatory (oral and written)
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant professional experience.
  • Previous experience with international or local NGOs.
  • Previous experience in team and/or project management
  • Previous experience in social work
