Non-key experts (NKEs)

Brief description:

The purpose of this contract is to enhance the commercialization and internationalization of innovative products by establishing a smart specialized interface targeting early stage deep-technology start-up commercialization.

Results to be achieved by the contractor:

• Capacity of deep-tech incubator staff increased.
• Internationalization and commercialization capacities of the target groups are increased
• D-tech Incubation Programme implemented

This Project is composed of four main activities:

A. Service Capacity Building for D-Tech Staff

B. Capacity Building Activities for Startups

C. Implementation of D-Tech Incubation Program

D. Internationalization Activities for Selected D-Tech Startups.

Commencement date of the project: February 2022

Requirements:

The general profile of the short-term non-key experts shall be that of professionals with sectoral specification in their respective domain of expertise. It is expected that the expe r ts (local and international) comply with the following minimum requirements (where not otherwise specified).

Indicative specialization areas: commercialization, internationalization, deep-tech,  startup/SME technical and business support, startup mentoring, training, startup acceleration, etc.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience for Non-Key Experts:

• Bachelor’s or higher degree relevant to the assignment
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience and minimum 5 years of specific professional experience relevant to the assignment for senior NKE
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience and minimum 2 years of specific professional experience relevant to the assignment for junior NKE
• Very good command of English (speaking, reading and writing)

For the implementation of the Project, the profile of the following non-key expert is foreseen (non­exhaustive list) as a minimum:

Startup Commercialization Expert (Non-key Expert)

Sta r tup Commercialization Expert (SCE) shall assist Key Expert 2 in the implementation of the D­Tech Incubation Program and internationalization activities. SCE will be expected to deliver tailored mentor support services to onboarded startups by conducting ongoing one-to-one mentoring sessions. Mentoring sessions will be designed aim reaching deliverables defined under Activity C and D. SCE will be expected to maintain a presence in Turkey, at the duty station, during the specific activities of the project. The expert will be reporting to the Key Expert 2 on the progress of the onboarded startups and all incubation and internationalization-related project activities.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience for Startup Commercialization Expert:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in any field
• Minimum 10 years of general professional experience
• Minimum 5 years of practical experience in delivering commercialization support services in a startup support mechanism targeting technology-based startups ( e.g. accelerator, incubator, mentoring scheme, any early-stage technology funding/investment mechanism)
• Proven experience in startup mentoring with minimum of 10 startups within the last 3 (three) years
• Good command of English (speaking, reading and writing)
