Job Purpose

To hold the direct relationship with partners, lead on partnership development, monitor partnership overall implementation, convene and facilitate networks and provide a primary interface between the SCD and its partners, With direct supervision from the General Manager of the White helmets and in close coordination with technical managers, external relations and Programmes support.

To act as a liaison between the SCD and its existing or potential partners. The position will facilitate partnerships development by ensuring SDC fulfils partnership requirements. They will engage with existing and potential partners to provide partner mapping and build relationships across the humanitarian sector and facilitate lasting partnerships in accordance with the SCD’s interest and Partnership principles

The position will work very closely with other colleagues across the SCD to identify new partners and ensure SCD is strategically positioned as a leader in humanitarian action in Syria and the region..

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and developing new relationships with organizations with whom SCD’s technical areas has operational and strategic synergy.
  • Establish, maintain and expand partnerships and alliances with various strategic humanitarian partners including local NGOs, International NGOs, UN agencies, and other donors to support SCD’s partnership approach.
  • Collate and compile reports in support of existing and/or new partnerships.
  • Undertake mapping of partners and / or potential partners.
  • Coordinate with Programmes and Programmes Support colleagues to collect inputs and/or supporting documents required by new partners.
  • Represent SCD in different partnership meetings with other managers as requested by the Programmes Lead.
  • Conduct other related tasks as required by the supervisor.
  • oversees or coordinates with implementing partners in the development of project documents.
  • In close coordination with operations support and compliance colleagues, develop and manage partnership agreements, coordinating the contracting phase with partners, and ensuring the proper dissemination of contractual obligations to the potential partners. He/she is responsible for ensuring that project modifications and amendments to the grant agreements are properly reflected in the partnership agreements.
  • Where applicable, and in close liaison with the program department, the Partnership Manager oversees the definition of the partner capacity building plan at the beginning of the project, and monitors the plan throughout the project cycle.
  • Respect and implement all principles of protection from sexual exploitation and abuse and ensuring the safeguarding of children

Note: the above-mentioned responsibilities are illustrative ones. Another future responsibilities/accountabilities may be assigned to the job depending on the department’s organizational chart or title.**

Qualification (Education/Work Experience)

A. Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Bachelor’s in related field.
  • At least 3 years of practical experience of working on emergency and/or disaster preparedness programmes in Syria.
  • Fluency in Arabic and in English, both written and spoken, required.

B. Desirable:

  • Master’s degree or Master’s in related field.
  • At least 4 years of practical experience of working on emergency and/or disaster preparedness programmes in Syria.

  • Knowledge of Accountability Framework priorities and other humanitarian/development sector initiatives and standards is highly desirable.
