About Us
International Bridges to Justice (IBJ) is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization that was founded in 2000 with a vision to end torture in the 21st Century through the just implementation of criminal laws. IBJ’s network of over 30,000 legal defenders rescues individuals trapped in broken judicial systems locally, improves public justice nationally, and leads a movement for legal rights globally.
The IBJ Syria program began in 2017 in response to the fact that many Syrians are without systemic legal aid. IBJ helps to ensure that those accused of crimes are judged fairly in a court of law and in 2021 has launched a program in Turkey that is focused on advancing justice for Syrians in Turkey.
