Context/Reporting line:
Under the overall supervision of the Migration Governance Programme Officer AVRR, the overall supervision
of the Head of Sub Office (HoSO) and the direct supervision of the Team Leader, the incumbent will be
responsible for providing support to the AVRR activities of the mission.
Core Functions / Responsibilities
1. Provide return counselling services and information provision on Assisted Voluntary Return and
Reintegration (AVRR) to migrants in Basra governorate, Iraq, including reintegration options in the
country of origin.
2. Assist the beneficiaries according to the selected services by using the appropriate tool and methods,
i.e., business plan, on the job training, job placement and vocational training.
3. Update on-line tools used by IOM Iraq to track “live” the status of implementation of each case, such
as the IOM Iraq Portal and MiMOSA.
4. Conduct field visits to the beneficiaries’ locations to validate the business plans.
5. Track the beneficiaries list on daily basis and update the beneficiaries’ files of Basra office.
6. Maintain updated the list of services providers, suppliers, and micro credit institutions in Basra
governorate.
7. Procure and perform logistic activities through IOM Iraq portal to purchase items and/or prepare PVs
for the beneficiaries according to the IOM standard procedures and methods.
8. Perform delivery services including in Kind Grants and Cash support to the beneficiaries according to
the IOM methods and financial procedures.
9. Take part in trainings or refreshment courses organized by the IOM Iraq mission or by external partners
on the above-mentioned areas
10. Assist AVR movement requests and provide reception assistance, arrange onward transportation to
migrant’s final destination.
11. Assist the Team Leader and Head of Operations in administrative and financial issues related to the
AVRR beneficiaries.
12. Perform other required duties assigned by the direct supervisor.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Education:
 Bachelor’s degree in Humanitarian studies, Business Administration and any other relevant field from
an accredited academic university or institute.
Experience and Skills:
 At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
 Excellent writing and communication skills.
 Experience in an international, humanitarian/development organization an advantage.
 Previous experience providing assistance to individuals and/or families.
 Experience working with migrants and/or refugees desirable.
 Experience working within a multi-cultural environment desirable.
Languages:
 Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
