Project Manager

[Baghdad,Iraq ]

Project Manager for CBT project which will be implemented in Baghdad and Anbar,.  Team leader for headed team consisting of assessment, as well as support staff. Focal person for coordination and reporting between Mercy hands Basra office, HQ (Baghdad) office and donor, concerning project activities. This position may include other tasks and directives as needed.

 

• Educational background: Degree in social work, psychology, community development, business administration or related field
• Minimum 5 years of demonstrated management experience and staff management, at least 3 of which are in non-governmental organization, ideally involved in the direct implementation of field level humanitarian assistance to refugees and/or IDPs and host communities.
• Long-standing experiences and technical knowledge in the field of MPCA, and referral systems
• Proven experiences in cross-cutting issues (gender, vulnerability and People with Disabilities) Human Resource Management as well as conduction and evaluation of assessments (market, price and security assessments)
• Proficient in written and spoken English and Arabic. Kurdish is considered as an asset 
• Understanding of the situation of the region and commitment to humanitarian principles
• Sound understanding of the Cash Consortium of Iraq and its M&E guidelines
• Excellent computer skills of Microsoft such as word and excel, fluent in English and Arabic
• Demonstrated track record of report writing and communication skills including strong negotiation, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent managerial soft skills (including performance appraisal, coaching, effective delegation, decision making)
• Sound understanding of the UN cluster system, also attend the CWG and livelihood cluster meetings.
• Proven experience in the management of donor-funded projects and deep understanding of specific donor procedures and requirements
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills along with a “can do” mentality and the ability to work independently
