Job purpose:
You will be part of a PSS facilitator team and responsible for facilitating PSS activities for children and youth, preparing PSS materials suitable for the targeted age group, and implementing awareness sessions for caregivers. You will report to the Team Leader and work closely with other project staff Psychologist
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Prepare daily plans prior to every PSS session aligned with the agreed structured PSS program
· Deliver PSS sessions, prepare PSS materials and visual aids suitable for the targeted age group
· Ensure the use of good facilitation skills that make the children feel comfortable and enhance their participation and personal development
· Ensure that children are not exposed to any form of harm or stress during the activity and that they feel safe and respected
· Positively interact with children and encourage them to express their needs and ensure their safety
· Ensure participation of children in the focused program in a non-discriminatory as well as age and gender-sensitive and appropriate approach
· Follow up on the students’ wellbeing, their attendance, and their specific needs
· Report on the number of students, achievements, the supplies needed and new registration requests
· Make sure the center is providing a creative safe environment by monitoring the PSS sessions and highlighting the existing gaps
· Liaise with stakeholders to facilitate student enrolment
· Facilitate seminars for parents and caregivers
· Refer children and families to the psychologist for further support and/or referral.
· Implement monitoring and evaluation activities
· Support the community engagement activities when and where necessary
· Support the Children Center activities
· Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Academic Qualifications:
Degree in Education, Psychology, Child Development, or closely related discipline
Requirements:
· 1 year of experience facilitating PSS activities for children and youth affected by the crisis
· Strong command of Arabic
· Either Turkish or English-speaking ability is required
· Experience working with children affected by crisis and conflict
· Basic understanding of child development and child protection
· Ability to facilitate creative art and music activities with children
· Commitment to humanitarian principles and values
· Commitment to equal opportunity and gender practice
· Willingness to contribute to the expansion of a dedicated, multicultural organization
Skills
· Intermediate and upper-level English language skills
· Familiarity to Child Safeguarding principles and/or CPMS
· Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
· Good team player, flexible and capable of working with a multicultural team and culturally sensitive
· Adaptability, sense of humor, and patience
