Introduction

ZOA Iraq supports vulnerable conflict-affected people with social reconstruction activities, livelihood assistance, and psychosocial support in order to establish stable and peaceful communities with hope for the future.

Purpose of the position:

The Social Worker is responsible for the implementation of ZOA project activities at the community level for the (Empowering children with disabilities) project within Mosul.

Task, responsibilities, results

  • Provide psychosocial support and develop an individual reintegration plan for children with disabilities with their peers.
  • Help children cope with and solve everyday problems
  • Work with individuals, families, or groups
  • Conduct awareness sessions with families and community members on the support needed for children with disabilities.
  • Supports compilation and writing of daily, monthly, and quarterly updates to the team leader.
  • Ensure accurate data reporting and collection.
  • Work closely with the Legal team (lawyer).
  • Adherence to the ZOA security policies and procedures and report any incidents or breaches to the line manager and/or security manage
  • Referral cases require a specific speciality that is not provided in the project to other NGOs, adhering to the referral mechanisms.
  • Adhering to the beneficiary’s confidentiality
  • Ensure ZOA Code of Conduct and Child Protection Policy are kept in all activities
  • Other tasks assigned by the line manager.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Competencies

Knowledge & Experience

  • University degree (minimally BSc/BA) preferably in relevant field (Psychology, or any other relevant field)
  • Minimum working experience of 2 years in training facilitation, teaching and Child protection projects implementation.
  • Proven experience of working on Psychosocial activities.
  • Experience in community mobilization and conducting outreach activities.
  • Knowledge on Child Protection, Psychosocial Support (PSS), Psychosocial First Aid (PFA), Case Management (CM), Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and others.
  • Knowledge of Department of Labour and Social Affairs (DOLSA) official guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures for Child Protection Case Management (SOP) or other official guideline and tools.
  • Good capacity to provide activities with active participation and creativity stimulation of the children
  • Computer skills (MS Office)
