Context

Under the general guidance of the Head, Community Stabilization Unit, the overall supervision of the IOM Iraq

MHPSS Programme Coordinator, the administrative supervision of the Head of Sub Office (HoSO) and the

direct supervision of MHPSS Program Officer in close coordination with CSU Area Coordinator, the successful

candidate will be responsible for supporting the MHPSS programme activities by performing the following

functions and responsibilities in Salah Al-Din and the camps where IOM MHPSS programme operates:

Core Functions / Responsibilities

1. Technical support, coordination, and supervision of MHPSS programs in Salah Al-Din ensuring timely

and effective execution of project’s activities and operational plans.

2. Assist in needs assessments (including MHPSS COVID-19), support research, identify strategies to

promote psychosocial support at Governorate level and assisting in designing operational plans to

enhance access to psychosocial services and opportunities.

3. Assess the MHPSS needs of designated groups and communities and develop individual management

plans in accordance with their needs.

4. Developing MHPSS care plans, including family support and reintegration of vulnerable groups such

as survivors and people with disabilities.

5. Provide psychological consultations to recipients in need of specialized levels of MHPSS support.

6. Supervise individual and group sessions.

7. Establishing/maintaining service mapping and referral pathway.

8. Provide Psychosocial First Aid (PFA) and emotional support to affected population in case of

sudden/on-going emergency.

9. Ensuring that Psychosocial Support (PSS) approach is maintained in different sectors in programs

implementations.

10. Organize platforms, conferences on disseminating key information and advocacy messages on PSS.

11. Organize community and awareness activities for beneficiaries and their families.

12. Contribute to public messaging on mental health and protection.

13. Attend and contribute to clinical supervision meetings.

14. Promote partnership, capacity building and strengthening of civil societies organizations, including

local NGOs, women’s and youth associations, providing training, coaching, and networking.

15. Support the maintenance of project documentation and information, including the preparation of Arabic

and English translations of technical documents.

17. In accordance with structured reporting requirements and informal reporting needs, prepare clear and

concise reports of all activities undertaken.

18. Ensure that hardcopy and electronic information systems are maintained, particularly the important

notes of all key monitoring, implementation and coordination activities.

19. Provide training sessions to IOM staff, psychosocial field teams, community focal points, volunteers

and partner organizations’ staff.

20. Participate in the continuous monitoring and evaluation of the program and in the logistical elaboration

of the programmatic phases of intervention.

21. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the programme management.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from an accredited academic university or institute is required.

Experience and Skills:

At least 3 years of professional experience in similar context.

Experience in providing one-on-one psychological counseling with displaced people.

Experience in communicating and working with a wide range of people including people of culturally

diverse backgrounds.

Experience with international organization is an advantage

Experience in Microsoft Office Applications

Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to details and ability to take initiative.

Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Languages:

Fluency in Arabic and English is required.
