Research Assistant – PT

Job Description:
This is Part Time (PT) episodic position with varying hours (approximately 4-12 hours per month).

The Research Assistant is responsible for collecting data directly through surveys, interviews, observations, and by interacting with visitors and community members. The data collected is used to help the Community Research & Collaboration team better understand current and prospective visitors and community members, guide programming and exhibitions, and ensures that the Museum is a responsive, inclusive institution.

Essential duties:
Observes visitor behavior within or outside of the Museum.

Administers surveys and questionnaires.

Interviews visitors and community members about their experiences/perceptions/ideas.

Accurately enters data as assigned.

Represents the Museum in a positive and professional manner while interacting with visitors and community members.

Frequently checks in with email communications and can easily respond to and follow written instruction.

Actively participates in data collection by reliably showing for up a minimum off 1 half-day shift per month.

Minimum qualifications/Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent required.

Ability to travel to other locations in the Denver area may be required.

Ability to work evenings and weekends may be required.

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required.

Ideal candidate will have:
Bilingual (English and an advanced conversational speaker AND proficient in reading and writing in any of the following languages: Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, Amharic, Somali, or Burmese)

Willingness to help with additional shifts as needed.

Can help summarize answers and find preliminary themes or trends in open ended responses and interview data, as requested
