Triangle Génération Humanitaire (TGH) is an international non-governmental organisation (NGO) designing and implementing emergency, post-emergency and development programs since 1994. The programs fall within the fields of water, hygiene and sanitation (WASH), civil engineering (Shelter), food security, rural development (Livelihood), socio-educational and psychosocial support (Protection). In 2021, its committed teams operate in 9 countries in Asia, Africa and Middle-East Region.

 TGH has been working in Iraq since June 2013, providing WASH in schools, winterization distribution, cash for education, Case management and psychosocial support as well as livelihood activities to Syrian refugees and IDPs in KRI. TGH developed its expertise in delivering Child Protection assistance to diplaced, refugee and host children in camp and out-of-camp settings. TGH has been working in the capacity building of the General Directorate of Social Care and Development (GDSCD, more commonly referred to as DoSA / Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (MoLSA) in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KR-I), the Social Protection Department in Ninewa and a National NGO in the Centre and South of Federal Iraq to strengthen the child protection case management systems.

 The present project “Improving the protective environment for returnees and out-of-camp displaced children and their communities in underserved areas of Ninewa and Sulaymaniyah governorates” The project aims at providing timely, culturally appropriate and gender sensitive child protection (CP) and legal services (GP) to conflict affected communities, while strengthening community-based mechanisms of risks prevention and response..

JOB OBJECTIVE :

The overall objective of the team leader is to ensure, under the responsibility of the deputy project manager (DPM) and the Project manager, the implementation of activities within the frame of the project and to develop any other activities related to child protection.

JOB FUNCTIONS :

Responsibility 1: Project’s activities implementation and monitoring (Case Management, PSS, Community based approach)

Task 1 – Participate with the PM and the Project Coordinator in drawing up the action plan in camps for which he /she is responsible, including setting the objective, and activity timetable in order to achieve the project results and follow up.

Task 2 – Help in ensuring the quality of the project through reporting follow up, results and context monitoring, lessons learned and knowledge management, tools development and trainings with the PM and the project coordinator.

Task 3 – Ensure the smooth implementation and monitoring of the project’s activities in close collaboration with the supervision team and member of the field teams.

Task 4 – Ensure the effective collaboration with all partners and key stakeholders of the project and participate in the collect of information for the service mapping corresponding.

Task 5 – Support the established committees (CP committee, Adolescent committee) by provide regular trainings related to CP for Committee members and monitor the implementation of their activities. Support in the creation of the action plan of Committees.

Task 6 – Follow up on the needs of the community in terms of awareness and make sure that the Committee members are being proactive in the definition of the awareness program, in coordination with the Community Mobilizers.

Task 7 – Organise and support the different awareness campaigns through the community structures in coordination with CPU and management team.

Task 8 – Ensure the capacity building of community members and non-CP actors (Sector leaders, teachers, authorities, NGO staff, etc.).

Task 9 – Ensure the utilization of monitoring and evaluation tools in an appropriate and relevant way

Task 10 – Share information and problems/challenges with the PM and Project Coordinator.

 

Responsibility 2: Team management.

 Task 1 – Supervise, follow and report the team’s activities according to the daily / weekly planning.

Task 2 – Provide technical support to the teams in collaboration with the technical support team.

Task 3 – Assist the team to ensure high level of accountability in all activities.

Task 4 – Provide advices, trainings and capacity building sessions to the team when needed once validated by the technical referent.

Task 5 – Provide first response to HR issues in the field and report to the PM directly.

Task 6 – Be involved in conducting performance evaluation of the staff and support them to set objectives.

Task 7 – Organize the work of the teams (groups, staff planning, presence sheet…)

Task 8 – Ensure that all staff respect confidentiality and follow TGH ethical guidelines and security rules.

 

Responsibility 3: Reporting, planning and communication

 Task 1 – Organize meetings with the teams regarding the activities of the project

Task 2 – Ensure that all data is properly and regularly collected

Task 3 – Monitor the project indicators on a regular basis and make sure the sources of verification are complete.

Task 4 – Handover the activity reports on each activity and bi weekly report on time to the PM and Project coordinator.

Task 5 – Contribute to the preparation of contractual reports.

Task 6 – Participate in Meetings, CCCM, Network groups at the field level, and cluster when requested by the Project Manager

Task 7 – Maintain good professional relationships with the beneficiaries, NGO partners, Camp Management, UN Agencies.

Task 8– Report to his/her Project Manager any development or change of circumstances regarding the context and actors

 

Responsibility 4: Participation in logistic and administrative tasks.

 Task 1 – Make sure that logistical, administrative and financial procedures linked to program implementation are followed and alert the PM if gaps are observed in order that corrective action may be taken.

Task 2 – Collect weekly alongside the coordinator the logistic and administrative needs and transmit to the PM.

Task 3 – Participate in logistic plan: team needs, manage field expenses, inventories…etc

 

Responsibility 5: Other duties.

Task 1 – Give input and contribute to needs assessment for any possible/future child protection concept note, project proposal, and new interventions.

Task 2 –  Translate from English to Arabic and reversed

Social worker and/or proven strongly experience on PSS and Case management
– Proven experience of working in capacity building.
– Proven experience of facilitating trainings
– Knowledge on Child Protection, Psycho Social Support (PSS), Psychosocial First Aid (PFA), Case Management (CM), Gender Based Violence (GBV) concepts and tools. .
– Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures for Child Protection Case Management (SOP) or other official guideline and tools.
– Experience in working with adolescents
– Good capacity to provide activities with active participation and stimulation.
– Experience in supervision of staff
– Good communication and social skills to establish relationships with different communities.
– Computer skills (MS Office).
– Strong organizational and reporting skills.
– Very creative, active, positive and flexible.
– Strongly motivated by humanitarian work.
Languages:
– Mandatory: Fluency in written and spoken Arabic. Knowledge of English is an asset
