The WGSS Prevention Workers will be responsible for specialized GBV awareness and prevention activities. He/she will liaise with the community members and key stakeholders in fronting GBV prevention activities, and coordinate with the IMC Community Workers team for more general GBV messages to be spread in the community.

Programs implementation

  • Adopt to the program designed monitoring and evaluation tools for community awareness raising sessions in GBV, including men’s dialogues, focused GBV sessions with women and girls, Quick chats, group discussion series guided by GBV related pictograms.  In coordination with the GBV officers and other key partners.
  • Organize and deliver GBV community awareness raising events, including 16 days of activism against GBV and international women’s day, Sexual Assault Awareness and prevention Month, campaign (SAApM) through various activities, Domestic Violence Month (DV), International Girl child day, World Refugee day.    and conducting safety audits as determined by project objectives
  • Monitor and evaluate the outcomes of the community International awareness raising sessions
  • Disseminate information to the community as per specialized trainings, SASA!
  • Sensitize , inform , form and oversee the running of the EMAP group sessions both male and female in the community 

Coordination and networking

  • Strengthen and maintain networks through other service providers and camp management to ensure that survivors receive compassionate support from the community and to encourage greater communication, collaboration and coordination among partners (protection, health, legal, and psychosocial sectors).
  • Advice the GBV Officer on programming areas that require targeted interventions and campaigns based on trend analysis.
  • Work in collaboration with GBV Team leaders   to ensure ongoing needs of women and girls are being met through prevention-related activities.
  • Organize and participate in case conferences and other interagency coordination meeting at camp/community level.

 

 

 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma holders in social sciences with strong GBV experience will also be considered.
  • 1 years related field with experience.  NGO experience is a plus

 

Required Qualification & Competencies

– Clear understanding of gender, abuse of power, and issues surrounding violence

–  Experience/understanding of community mobilization and empowerment work

–  Social work understanding/experience

–  Willingness to travel to the site locations

– Openness to working with displaced communities

–  Project cycle management understanding and application

–  Computer and communication skills preferred

–   Fluent Arabic/English

Including writing clear and concise reports.

·   Strong computer skills (Word and Excel)
