Building Maintenance Engineer

SUMMARY

Under general direction, performs skilled maintenance on CDS Global buildings and properties, including installation, testing, and maintenance of HVAC systems, chemical systems, boiler systems, electrical systems, carpentry, computer cabling, and telephone systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintains confidentiality of CDS Global and its clients’ proprietary information.
  • Maintains operation of boilers, including chemical treatments.
  • Maintains HVAC systems, including cooling tower and related units.
  • Inspects equipment and diagnoses malfunctions.
  • Installs computer cabling.
  • Installs phone systems.
  • Lays out electrical systems for computers, offices, and cubicles.
  • Utilizes plumbing and carpentry skills to repair or install materials.
  • Constructs walls, offices, and ceilings.
  • Plans, estimates, and coordinates the purchase of materials and/or equipment for projects.
  • Identifies and performs preventative maintenance projects to be completed.
  • Operates industrial equipment.
  • Interprets and follows blueprints and/or engineering specifications.
  • Provides supervision and/or assistance to other members of the department/staff.
  • Analyzes and make decisions based upon specific written or verbal guidelines.
  • Reacts to change and remains productive.
  • Interacts in cooperative and professional manner, with all levels of employees, vendors and/or clients, in team environment.
  • Organizes tasks and resources to complete work and meet deadlines according to established departmental procedures.
  • Adheres to CDS Global attendance policies; reports to work station as directed (by Management).
  • Follows all CDS Global ergonomic and safety policies.

  • Assumes additional responsibilities as required.

EDUCATION AND/OR CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND LICENSING

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three or more years of skilled experience in related fields required.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills.
  • Experience performing simple mathematical calculations.
  • Has access to transportation requiring a valid driver’s license, proof of safe driving record, and active insurance.
