PURPOSE:
The Program Officer supervises the implementation of core program in Erbil governorate and new areas to be identified, the Program officer will supervisor the trainers in the centers. The Program Officer ensures the quality of the services and the day-to-day activities are delivered to Women for Women International’s participants in the best way possible. She is also responsible to make sure that the Program goes according to work plans.
The Program officer puts schedules in places for different activities without causing any conflict. The officer will be responsible to create a friendly learning environment for WfWI’s participants. It is the officer’s responsibility to raise PRs of maintenance needs for the centers in a timely manner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Overseeing women’s training centers by:
- Supervising the implementation of activities in accordance with the program plan and budget
- Ensure that participants receive up to date information and are aware of the assistance available in the centers and the area.
- Provides trainings and replace trainers in case of their absence.
- Promote referral, complaint & feedback mechanism for the effected population.
- Maintain an overall schedule and plan of activities of WfWI’s activities offered to participants.
- Follow up with the social and economic trainers on participants who miss classes and report this back to the PM.
- Coordinate with other organizations and create a service map for all offered services in the area.
- Submit detailed bi-weekly field reports to the program manager and indicate challenges, achievement, and success stories.
- Coordination and Communication:
- Participate in community identifications and assessments.
- Coordinate with program officers from other program areas and share experiences.
- Coordinate with governmental institutions such as Governorates and Assayish to get permission for the Program activities (where needed).
- Responsible for the delivery of the stipends to women on a monthly basis and submit supporting documents to clear advances.
- Continuously assess and evaluate program implementation against program work plan in collaboration with the trainers.
- Submit monthly needed reports to supervisor.
- Participate in mid-term assessments for finding new locations, market assessment and/or needs assessment.
- Supports the program trainers in collecting success stories, photos and signed consent forms for each photo submitted.
- Keep the supervisor aware of any problems or issues encountered in the field as soon as it happens.
- Assist in community outreach activities during enrollment.
- Assist in any field research or evaluation of Economic Empowerment activities such as saving groups, vocational classes.
- Assist in community mobilization of participants in assigned locations.
- Any other duties assigned by supervisor
- Human Resources Responsibilities:
- Ensure subordinates’ attendance sheets are accurately filled and provided as per the agreed schedule.
- Manage staff attendances, leaves and maintain a master sheet of staff quarterly leave plans.
- Raise Recruitment Requests forms to fill any gaps in program staff under her supervision.
- Conduct programs trainers’ periodic performance reviews and set yearly objectives for them.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Social Studies or any relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in relevant fields, preferably within INGOs sector and at least 1 year at a supervisory level.
- Ability to understand the needs of WfWI’s targeted groups.
- Demonstrate ability to supervise and motivate a team of people through a participatory and enabling management style.
- Demonstrable understanding and experience of gender issues and proven commitment to addressing gender inequalities in all key areas of responsibility.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge and experience in training and facilitations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and good report writing skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well as a part of a team.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, and under pressure.
- Ability and willingness to travel around the country as required.
- High level of fluency in English, Kurdish, Arabic (speaking, reading, writing).
- Strong computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and email applications.
