CAD Operator/Designer

Position Summary:As a key member of the Civil Engineering and Design Team, the CAD Operator/Designer (Civil) will undertake CAD activities to support operations in HKN’s Sarsang block.Main Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Maintain Civil Department CAD system to a recognised industry standard including setting up drawing templates, X-ref library and drafting procedures.
2. Day to day preparation and updating of 3D civil models.
3. Day to day preparation of conceptual and detailed engineering drawings for civil works including roads, earthworks, utilities, buildings and foundations.
4. Red-line mark ups and preparation of as-built drawings

Other duties may include:

1. Assisting with the preparation of bills of quantities for cost estimating.
2. Assisting with the preparation and evaluation of tender packages for civil and building works.
3. Document control of engineering deliverables.
4. Monitoring and control of progress to ensure deliverables are completed in accordance with project schedules.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. 5+ years hands on experience in AutoCad 2D and 3D civil packages (CAD experience in other disciplines may be considered).
2. Knowledge and ability to set up CAD systems and drawing templates.
3. Proven experience of producing CAD drawings for earthworks, roadworks, utilities and reinforced concrete designs.
4. Ability to mentor and train other members of the CAD team.
5. Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat, MS Word and Excel. (Knowledge of other MSOffice packages would be a plus).
6. Visual awareness and an eye for detail.
7. Strong numerical skills.
8. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
9. Strong organizational skills.
10. Ability to work independently.
11. Fluent in English – written and oral. Ability to read and write in Kurdish.

Supplementary Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related subject would be an advantage.
2. Experience of civil engineering design concepts & principles would be an advantage.

Physical Requirements (if needed):This position will involve field trips, must be in good physical condition and willing to visit Company’s remote facilities for short trips, including overnight stays in Company accommodation.
