NCA has been responding to the humanitarian crisis in Iraq since December 2014 by providing emergency WASH and GBV programming for IDP’s and host communities. NCA focuses on livelihood and peacebuilding projects.
NCA is now looking for a Finance and Administration Manager who will be based in the NCA office in Dohuk, North Iraq. In this role, we are looking for a competent and highly motivated candidate where you will have the exciting opportunity to oversee and further develop the financial team, provide sound leadership, as well as build internal capacity of staff and local partners. As Finance Manager, you have solid management experience and must develop staff, mitigate HO demands, delegate work, and contribute to the overall success of our financial operations in country. You will also be part of the management team at the NCA Country Office.

The duration for this position is 2 years with the possibility of extension. Dohuk is a non-family duty station.
Duties and responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for financial processes, in accordance with NCA procedures and national legislation in the country.
- Ensure good quality and timely assistance to program and grant staff in developing proposals and setting up new project.
- Provide reports, analysis and strategic recommendations in a timely manner to assist in decision making for project managers and the senior management team.
- Develop and ensure that proper financial monitoring systems are in place such that financial processes comply with NCA’s routines, guidelines, and multiple donor regulations.
- Build-up, develop and ensure the capacity of our staff within finance and accounting, including the field offices.
- Develop excellent relationship with the key stakeholders, Head Office, Donors, Program staff and partners.
Qualifications
- Relevant education in Finance, Management or Accounting.
- INGO experience.
- Proven experience in building capacity with local staff and partners.
- Solid understanding and familiarity with the principles of the international financial standards.
- Understanding of major back donors’ compliance rules and general conditions
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, Kurdish and/or Arabic an advantage.

- Hands on, motivating and inspiring leadership style.
- Must be able to handle stress and a high workload under challenging work conditions as well as understanding that at times you must work directly with grant applications, report writing, and deadlines.
- Proven ability to work well in a cross-cultural and complex work environment; religious and culturally sensitive.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- The successful candidate can identify with NCA´s core Christian values.
