Description:
The Department of Disability and Human Development is searching for three (3) Graduate Hourlys. Work hours are generally flexible (10-20 hours per week). The appointment starts ASAP. Under the direction of Principal Investigator and Project Coordinator, the graduate hourly will conduct activities to support the project “Comprehensive needs assessment of older adults living in Suburban Cook County”.
Duties:
- Conduct and summarize literature review
- Collect data from potential research study participants by conducting interviews and providing questionnaires. Ensure completeness and accuracy of data collected.
- Compile, tabulate and/or code participant data and enter into database. Update database as necessary. Maintain accurate and timely records to include notebooks, records, databases, etc. as needed by the project.
- Follow-up with research study participants by conducting phone calls and/or face-to-face visits. Provide additional research information, resolve any data inaccuracies and collect samples as appropriate to study.
- Set up and maintain research database (e.g., REDCap, Qualtrics)
- Assist with collecting, tracking, reviewing, analyzing and summarizing research data. Create reports, tables, charts, graphs and/or presentations. Communicate research information to appropriate parties. May assist with writing/preparing portions of grant applications and providing input to scientific papers and publications.
Qualifications:
- MS/PhD students in fields such as public health, gerontology, disability, psychology, sociology, or other related fields
- Attention to detail
- Ability to empathetically, effectively and professionally communicate verbally and in writing to a diverse population.
- Ability to accurately compile and analyze complex data sets and create and update spreadsheets, graphs and presentations based on data
- Familiarity with research database program (e.g., REDCap, Qualtrics) is preferred
- Proficiency in statistical software programs (such as R, SPSS) to analyze data is preferred
- Fluency in Spanish or Arabic is a plus.
