International Services Coordinator (Customer Service)

Preference will be given to qualified full-time employees within the bargaining unit at Sheridan College. Should a suitable candidate not be found, external candidates will be considered.

Under the direction of the Manager, Admissions, the International Services Coordinator (Customer Service) supports the achievement of international enrolment and retention goals by coordinating and implementing all communications and communications plans with international students and other stakeholders, including messaging for prospects, applicants, enrollees, and current students. The incumbent performs a broad range of duties in four main areas: communications, targeted activities for international students, student recruitment marketing and international student information provision/advising.

What You’ll be Doing

Responding to requests for information and questions by providing accurate and thorough explanations on all aspects of student life at Sheridan;

Maintaining data and student-related information (contact, visits, appointments, updates, email copies, etc.) within the department’s data repositories, including but not limited to PeopleSoft, ISP, CRM and SharePoint;

Contributing towards the creation of communication plans for prospective students, applicants, enrollees, current students and other stakeholders, and implement those plans using the college’s automated systems (e.g. PeopleSoft, CRM);

Arranging culturally appropriate, safe and varied on-site and offsite activities for international students in support of their acclimatization to Canada and Sheridan;

Preparing an annual events plan, with budget, for approval by the relevant Managers;

Answering a broad range of questions from applicant and other stakeholders related to Sheridan’s programs and services;

Providing members of the Sheridan community (faculty, other staff, other departments, Deans and Executive members) with accurate information about IRCC-related matters;

Performing other related duties as assigned.

About You

You are a student/client centered individual with a passion for facilitating student success and enhancing the student experience.

Your excellent communication skills and professionalism allow you to interact with diverse audiences.

You are highly collaborative and have experience working in team environments and adapting to different working styles.

The successful candidate will also meet the following qualifications:

3-year diploma/degree in Public relations, Business, Education or a related field and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience with an emphasis on admissions, assessing educational standards or equivalencies or international education;

Fluency in a second language other than English. Languages considered include Hindi, Punjabi, Mandarin, Arabic, Farsi, Russian, Korean, Vietnamese, Spanish or Portuguese;

Experience working with international students in a post-secondary environment is highly desired.
