The Iraq Durable Communities and Economic Opportunities (DCEO) is a United States Agency for International Development (USAID) program implemented by Chemonics International in Iraq. DCEO aims to support vulnerable communities to build community resilience against destabilizing factors by increasing their adaptive capacity and economic well-being. The project consists of two objectives. Objective 1, Adaptative capacity of vulnerable communities increased is achieved through two components. Component 1.1 seeks to mitigate drivers of conflict in targeted communities and Component 1.2 seeks to enhance community leadership of inclusive local development.  Objective 2, Economic well-being of communities advanced, will rest on the assessments, analysis, foundations, and groundwork of Objective 1.

 

 

OBJECTIVE:  The aim of this position is to support the whole DCEO Iraq program different locations Erbil and Baghdad for any IT related issues in the context of helpdesk. The candidate should be great in communications and have enough technical skills to provide the best solution possible for any upcoming issues and problem. Having ability to find solutions is one of the great qualifications for this role.

 

Reports to: IT & Security Specialist.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Addresses employee-reported IT issues in a professional and courteous manner over the phone, via email, and in person in the whole Chemonics Iraq/DCEO.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact through the entire IT incident lifecycle – from the first point of contact through to resolution, proactively keeping the end-user informed of progress.
  • Provides support to end-user applications in the Windows 10 environment such as Microsoft Office 365 and other applications employees may use for their daily work.
  • Configures laptops and sets up computers for new employees.
  • Inspects newly purchased laptops, mobile phones, and other IT hardware such as monitors, etc.
  • Identifies and troubleshoots printer or laptop hardware issues.
  • Identifies patterns of issues and reports them to the IT and Security Specialist.
  • Troubleshoot internet connections and network equipment.
  • Run regular internet test to verify connection speed and bandwidth.
  • Running local network cables if need extra cable in the LAN.
  • Maintains a complete and accurate tracker with a record of all issues reported and the outcome.
  • Supports with other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

 

  • A. in computer science or equivalent education and work experience.
 
2-    Minimum of two to three years of hands-on experience with hardware and software troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle simple, routine tasks, and operational issues.
3-    Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing, with excellent customer service skills.
4-    Strong administrative skills, word processing abilities, and attention to detail.
5-    Ability to follow standard practices and procedures, receive general instruction and supervision on work progress, and make significant contribution to end results.
6-    Demonstrated resourcefulness in problem-solving, and initiative to learn new skills.
7-    Demonstrated understanding of networking and system administration principles of Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and modern Windows environments.
8-    Ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
9-    Be familiar with cloud networking product such as Meraki.
10-  Knowing how to configure Internet router, Switch, and access point.
11-  Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft applications required. Knowledge of other software including Smartsheet’s, DocuSign, SharePoint, or other services preferred.
12-  Fluent English and Arabic is required, and Kurdish is an addition.
