Jiyan Foundation for Human Rights is a charitable organization supporting survivors of human rights violations, defending fundamental freedoms, and promoting democratic values throughout the world. Our programs provide mental health, medical treatment, and other support services to survivors of trauma, terror, domestic violence, and human rights violations.

 We are planning to increase our services for clients in Iraq and are in the process of establishing a center in Baghdad. We are seeking applications for the following position:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

The Center Manager plans, establishes, and accounts for the operations of the Center, delegates relevant tasks, and is responsible for staff and project management, specifically:

  1. Accompany and support the setup of Jiyan Foundation’s Office in Baghdad;
  2. Experienced administrative and financial oversight of all center operations (planning, monitoring, evaluation);
  3. Staff management, including hiring new staff (in cooperation with relevant colleagues), delegation of tasks, distribution of work;
  4. Represent the Center with regards to local, regional, and international stakeholders;
  5. Close coordination and cooperation with relevant functions within the organization.

 

 

 

 

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

  1. High level of self-organization, commitment, and reliability.
  2. Proven ability to structure, prioritize, guide, and delegate the work process;
  3. Very good Arabic and English skills (listening, speaking, and writing), Kurdish language skills a plus;
  4. Excellent communication skills for liaising with different authorities and stakeholders;
  5. Relevant university degree or similar;
  6. Minimum of five-years of proven work experience in similar function with staff and budgetary responsibilities;
  7. Five years of work experience with non-for-profit organisations and projects funded by multiple donors;
  8. Management-level work experience with non-for-profit organization and projects funded by multiple donors;
  9. Familiarity with accounting and procurement procedures;
  10. Readiness to travel, including multi-day trips nationally and internationally;
  11. Placing the protection of clients, particularly children and youth, from violence and harm at the highest priority;
  12. Active interest in promoting human rights and social justice; awareness of current relevant events both nationally and internationally.

  3. Paid holidays (24 days for full-time position) plus 15 statutory holidays. Additional paid holidays, especially on the occasion of religious festivals may be agreed upon.
  4. Voluntary pension scheme with employer contributions.
