Human Appeal (HA) is a British humanitarian, non-governmental and non-profit organisation that works in 25 countries around the world since 1991. Human Appeal has been operating in Iraq since 2016. Human Appeal currently has almost 400 staff across numerous locations in Iraq, including Erbil, Dohuk, Ninewa, Salah al Din, Kirkuk and Baghdad. Human Appeal Iraq’s country office is in Erbil with sub-offices in Mosul, Tikrit, Baghdad and Aana. Human Appeal has and is delivering over $50 million in humanitarian and early-recovery assistance in 2017-18. Human Appeal is working in a number of thematic sectors: primarily in protection; shelter and non-food items; food security and livelihoods; WASH; and education. Human Appeal’s main donors include UNHCR, UNOCHA, WFP and numerous other international institutional partners.
Work Purpose:
The incumbent will be responsible primarily for granted related information management, reporting and archiving. In doing so, Programme Officer will work closely with the programme team in Erbil and Project Managers in field to collect quality data, reviewing and improving the reports and do the quality assurance. Support in the development of situation analysis, proposals write-up and concept notes for internal and external donors. The position also required to assist in developing project information for publication and website.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1 Develop and review information management system to meet the internal and external reporting requirements and programme accomplishments.
2 Develop/refine existing and new reporting templates, databases and trackers for on-going programmes.
3 Write efficient reports including: donor, monthly, weekly progress, activity achievement reports for the programs under the portfolio.
4 Support the programs in the field visits whenever needed to document the success stories, and highlight achievements.
5 Provide critical review and quality assurance of all internal and external reports, and submit the quality reports to the Head of Programmes/SMT.
6 Assist in a secondary literature and desk researching particularly during proposal writing.
7 Support the development of and drafting of concept notes, full proposals, and modification requests
8 Proactively participated in external and internal meetings creating MOM
9 As media focal point, coordinate with HQ Coms to develop high quality coms material, including e-newsletters, blogs, social media contents and case studies for websites.
10 Assist in the preparation and review of internal and external reporting requirements, such as situation and narrative reports
11 Develop project profiles for UNDP and other projects based on proposals and share with Coms department for HA websites
12 Lead the information collection (quality and quantity data) from project managers and develop publication material for Livelihood, Protection, WASH programmes on regularly basis
13 Develop and maintain the programme archive by developing the grants specific files, documentation and reports at the country level.
14 Support information gathering and drafting of situation analysis (security, political, media, from other agencies/actors), regarding humanitarian needs and data collection from program activities, as per need
15 Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Minimum Requirements:
- Masters/Bachelor’s degree in development studies, social sciences, humanitarian assistance, communication or related degree.
- At least 2-3 years of work experience related to programme reporting, implementation and managing sub-awards.
- Ability to work with multi-disciplinary officials or groups.
- Excellent listening and observation skills, including ability to create trust, support, respect and interact with survivors of all ages, background and diversity.
- Strong writing & oral communication and presentation skills and pays great attention to detail.
- Positive and professional attitude, able to organize, maintain composure and prioritize work under pressure, work overtime when necessary and be able to coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
- Must be able to maintain highest level of confidentiality regarding work-related information and data.
- Ability to undertake situation analysis and write proposal and assessment reports
- Fluency and excellent technical writing in English. Arabic and Kurdish languages are desirable.
