Project Assistant



ROLE PURPOSE:

Save the Children is Grantee for Education Cannot Wait (ECW) Seed funding, an innovative model for education in emergencies programming. The objective of the PMU is to coordinate (including disbursement of funds) with selected organization for implementation of the Multi Year Resilience Programme (MYRP) for Iraq. The PMU will manage and coordinate disbursement of Education Cannot Wait funding $12M over 3 years. The MYRP Theory of Change focuses on conflict-sensitive interventions, that move communities from emergency to recovery and towards development. The funding for MYRP will ensure that out of school children (OOSC) in priority areas have flexible, responsive routes into learning opportunities, that support their transition into further levels of education and that support their holistic wellbeing and development. The MYRP in line with ECW priorities focusses on interventions targeting 3-18 years especially refugees, IDPs, returnees and host communities.

Project Assistant will be a focal point for MYRP team and partners on scheduling Education technical meetings, processing PRs for every project aspect, ensure that attendance sheets are kept regularly, is provided translation to Arabic and English (preferred to have Kurdish translating capacities also). When possible, translate at cluster meetings, workshops etc. He/she will insure the project files and documentations are well kept. Also he/she will attend several meetings and all meetings notes should be kept professionally. Within the Cluster, this role will support the Information Management Officer in communicating with stakeholders, support sub-national clusters with their 3Ws (Who is doing What, Where); support organization of workshops, etc.

Under the guidance of the MYRP Director he/she will support all the project team as well as cluster to schedule partners’ meetings and coordinate with them.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: 

–    Organising meetings and workshops (responsible of all logistics);
–    Processing PRs for every project aspect and support cluster with PRs;
–    Ensure that attendance sheets are kept regularly;
–    Provision of written translation from Arabic and English and from English to Arabic (preferred to have Kurdish translating capacities also);
–    When possible, translate on meetings and workshops;
–    He/she will insure the project files and documentations are well kept.
–    The staff should be able to work independently and support the team in all the required tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS  

•    Bachlor’s Degree in related discipline
•    The position invites fresh graduates who are passionate, eager to learn, accountable and responsive.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential: 
–    Have very good knowledge of Microsoft Office package (the candidates will be tested).
–    Have multitask experience and/or capacity.
–    Ben engaged in tasks that have great responsibility at work or school.
–    Have very good English in wiring and verbal (the candidates will be tested).
–    Have very good Arabic in writing and verbal (the candidates will be tested).
Desirable: 
–    Preferred to have experience with NGOs
–    Preferred to have Kurdish writing and verbal skills
