II. Organizational context

Caritas Czech Republic (CCR) is a non-profit organization that operates abroad, in the context of humanitarian aid and development cooperation. It is a respected member of the international network, Caritas Internationalis and Caritas Europa. Its foreign activities focus on the health and social sectors and also on developing livelihood for the local population and education of children and adults.

 

To ensure proper management of the newly started project in partnership with the Wold Food Program (WFP) to implement the school feeding activities in Kirkuk, Ninewa and Anbar Governorates CCR is looking for a Project Coordinator with an experience in coordination and managing of emergency oriented and development assistance projects in the Iraqi context. The project coordinator should be able to travel into Federal Iraq areas in Kirkuk Ninewa and Anbar in regular bases.

 

III. Responsibilities

Project management and administration:

  • Implementing project activities according to the project document focusing on quality delivery and project impacts and results (in line with organizational and donor guidelines, manuals with respective field locations.
  • Responsible for project planning in the field locations (including the needs for supporting program staff, logistics and admin are met in advance.
  • Timely reporting to the CCR mission & PM
  • Project team leadership: teamwork, support recruitment, evaluation & quality leadership.
  • Maintaining good order in records and official documentation
  • Representation of CCR to various stakeholders (together with the mission management)
  • Promoting CCR and ensuring the CCR visibility
  • Communication with respective organizations and institutions
  • Compile lessons learned, identified best practices, participate on development and update of relevant tools, guidelines and manuals, local expert pool and expert resources

 

Project Management:

  • Work closely with the field staff to accomplish the project outcomes.
  • Develop a reporting mechanism and tools to receive information from field in efficient and timely manner.
  • Conduct regular meeting in the field office
  • Provide technical mentoring and guidance for Field staff to complete the project activities in timely and quality manner.
  • Build the institutional and administrative capacity of staff throughout the implementation of the project.
  • Ensure that implementation adheres with the Donor agreement and approved procurement and financial manuals.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

  • Experience in project management for at least 2 – 3 years
  • university graduate, ideally management, business management, engineering, sustainable development or another relevant field
  • Good experience in Supply chain preferable.
  • Previous experience managing projects implemented through partnerships.
  • Previous experience managing projects funded by WFP and other UN Agencies.
  • Experience in one of the following fields is desired: food security.
  • Experience in assessment and capacity building.
  • Excellent English and Arabic both written and spoken.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to analyse information
  • Motivation, creativity and ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in a diverse team, managing stressful situations and results orientation
  • Living or willing to relocate to Baa’j district.
