Project purpose:

Increase youth resilience against violent extremism by strengthening local identity-based approaches by:

  1. Increasing the ability of young religious leaders to promote messages of peace
  2. Strengthening the ability of Iraqi youth groups to enhance social cohesion using arts and culture
  3. Increasing youth resilience and capacitating the youth to provide early warning signals and prevent violent extremism in Nineveh.

 

Job duties and tasks:

The PM main responsibilities are, but not restricted to:

  • Coordinating with TAD management team for the selection of the required staff and for contracting them on the basis of the Donor’s procedures;
  • Preparing and signing contracts and ToRs;
  • Coordinate with the Peacebuilding Advisor and the Executive Director to implement the project activities and develop effective methodologies for project implementation and mitigation strategies;
  • Travel to the project targeted areas and engage with project stakeholders and beneficiaries;
  • Supervise work, check timesheets, dispose the salary payments;
  • Supervising the Project Officer and the Field Coordinator to ensure the project activities are carried out and targets are met;
  • Designing activity plans and regularly revising their implementation;
  • Regularly collecting the information and the reports required in accordance with the monitoring tools approved;
  • Monitoring the expenditure pace and ensuring its compliance with the project document;
  • With the support of the administrator, the PM is responsible for:
    – Budget management and follow-up;
    – The sound implementation and monitoring of TAD and the Donor’s administrative procedures;
  • Following TAD’s internal administrative guidelines;
  • Defining yearly / quarterly and monthly plans of expenditures according to the project’s budget and the plan of activities;
  • Maintaining the relationship with the Donor. This involves:
    – Facilitating the Donor’s field monitoring visits based on the plan approved
  • Preparing the interim and final reports as requested by the Donor, and any further reports which may be requested;
    Ensure that all projects sites are provided with visibility materials;
  • Ensuring that communities and stakeholders are aware of the subjects funding and/or implementing the project;
  • Providing the TAD’s Communication Department with regular updates and documentation (written, photographic, video etc..) in order for them to promote the project via their standard channels;
  • Coordinate with the security focal points and advisors.

Educational & Qualifications  Requirements:

  • University or college qualification in a relevant area or equivalent work experience.
  • At least three (3) years of experience working with NGOs/INGOs.
  • Experience in project management, capacity building, project planning, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the local contexts and sensitivities.
  • Peacebuilding programming and management
  • Finance and strategic planning 
  • Emergency start-up.
