PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The USAID Youth Excel: Our Knowledge Leading Change program implemented by IREX and its consortium support young leaders and youth-led and youth-serving organizations around the globe to conduct quality “research-for-change[1]” use data and learnings to improve their own cross-sectoral, positive youth development programs, synthesize data and learning; and engage in intergenerational dialogue with adult decision-makers so that together youth and adults can shape and advance data-informed development policies, agendas, and programs. Youth Excel works with local youth-led and youth-serving organizations to enhance their program outcomes, learning cultures, networks, and leadership for positive youth development through “research-for-change” in Iraq.
In the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), the ICONs theme will focus on improving youth livelihoods inclusion, by understanding interconnected causes (rural, political, and gender exclusion) to the current livelihoods exclusion that youth face.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Specific duties will include the following:
- Monitor and update monthly project progress to the Line Manager.
- Assisting the Line Manager in the preparation of project reports.
- Assist the Line Manager in data analysis, fieldwork coordination, and data encoding.
- Assist the project in the activity planning framework.
- In cooperation with other project members, organize meetings, workshops, and
training courses and facilitate workshops, discussions, and consultations with communities and stakeholders under the projects. - Undertake the daily and timely communications and follow up with the workshop participants.
- Support Search Common Ground Organization in their field searchs.
- Provide the Line Manager with information on regulations, decisions, and legal decrees relevant to project activities and approaches.
- Develop and maintain a database of all technical reports, presentations, maps, data and information, pictures produced by the project as well as a list of organizations and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain effective contacts with a wide range of external contacts with organizations and individuals who can assist in the conservation activities.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as required by the project coordinator.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in project management or business administration field
- At least three years of working experience in/with NGO/INGO.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and MS Office applications.
- Required competencies: team player, effective communicator, successful negotiator, creative and analytical thinker, active learner, able to work in a multi-cultural environment.
- Ability to function effectively under stressful conditions such as heavy workloads, extensive travel, and deadlines.
LANGUAGES SKILLS REQUIRED
Fluency in English, Kurdish, and Arabic, both spoken and written is required.
