The Protection Team Leader is responsible for supervising effective protection services, including needs assessments, protection monitoring, community-based activities in line with the project. The incumbent will be a focal point for Child Protection and will be responsible for the implementation of SIF’s protection projects activities, which aim to provide support to vulnerable orphan children and their families to enable children to complete their education.
- Supervising and supporting social workers to ensure proper implementation of project activities
- Ensure that work plans are carried out in a timely, effective, and technically sound manner and review and collate the reports
- Supervise various assessments carried out during the implementation of projects and data collection. Collate and analyse the data and assist in developing assessment reports, infographics etc
- Scheduling and supervising regular meetings to provide technical/psychosocial/ life skills support to outreach /social workers.
- Act as a focal point for the child safeguarding and implementation of case management services in Maysan, identifying and referral of vulnerable orphans for adequate assistance according to SIF’s criteria and protection cluster referral criteria.
- Creating a schedule of home visits, reflecting the priority of each case.
- Reviewing staff caseloads to ensure they are manageable and adjusting as needed, to ensure equal and effective distribution of work – all in coordination with, and under the project officer;
- Monitoring child protection cases and progress of cases and reviewing the case reports
- Assisting the Project officer in finalizing all related documents needed for the project.
- Liaise with local stakeholders, specialized agencies and service providers, governmental authorities with the aim of strengthening joint planning and synergies ensuring community participation.
- Provide verbal and written feedback to supervisor on progress, lessons learnt, achievements and gaps, issues and problems.
- Reviewing and analyzing caseload trends to inform programming.
- Development and implementation of Child Protection and Psychosocial counselling guidelines.
- Ensure that beneficiaries receive regular periodic support in a timely and coordinated manner.
- Updating the beneficiary database in work locations in coordination with Social Workers.
- Assisting in the management of CP Child needs assessments and mappings, Evaluating case files and performance of outreach/Social Workers.
- Assisting Project officer in the management of the human resources related to beneficiaries.
- Providing CP-related training, in coordination with project officer.
- Conducting site/home visits for all areas of intervention.
- Keeping the Project officer up-to-date on trends, achieved results, planned activities, problems met by the outreach/Social Workers during their fieldwork.
- Develop information material for various program-related activities such as psychosocial counselling, skill based training, etc…
- Assisting in the creation of any kind of project material, both technical and informational, in Arabic, and/or English.
- Assist project officer in implementation of SIF’s seasonal projects activities as assigned.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Project Officer.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Required Education/Level of studies:
University degree in Social Sciences such as Social Work, Psychology or Education or equivalent degree.
Professional experience:
Minimum 2-3 years of experience with child protection and case management.
Required Technical and IT skills:
- Command of IT software packages (MS office/EXCEL):
- Ability to generate assessment templates using google forms, KOBO, ODK
- Ability to use EXCEL is mandatory
- Ability to analyse data
