Job Summary

The College of Arts and Sciences is seeking a Student Affairs Officer III to serve as the Assistant Director of the Center for English as a Second Language and Assistant Director of International Students and Programs in the Office of Enrollment Management and Decision Support.

This individual will serve as the assistant director for all facets of the Center for English as a Second Language to include the Global ESL Pathway, Intensive English Program and English for Academic Purposes; provide administrative support to international students assigned to the College; serve as an essential part of the College’s recruitment team; assist international students with understanding university administrative processes to include suspension, probation, graduation application, payment deadlines, etc.

Be responsible for establishing connections with various international universities, visiting international campuses, and coordinating MOU’s or other agreements between such universities; and assist the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate and International Affairs in negotiating, tracking, and processing partnership agreements with international universities.

Given the COVID-19 pandemic, and the need to protect our university community including our students, staff, faculty and visitors, the University of Kentucky is requiring COVID-19 vaccination for all new hires prior to starting employment. Therefore, as of October 18, 2021, all new hires prior to their first day of employment must submit appropriate documentation showing, i) completion of the first vaccination against COVID-19, or ii) completion of the full vaccination series against COVID-19, or iii) approved exemption (medical contraindications or a sincerely held religious belief) through the formal exemption process from the COVID-19 vaccination requirement. For those employees who have completed the first vaccination against COVID-19 prior to their first day of employment, the second vaccination (if applicable) must be completed following the vaccination recommended schedule to be considered fully vaccinated.

Multi-lingual is preferred with a strong preference for Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Arabic (secondary).
