Mercy Hands for Humanitarian Aid (MH) is a leading Iraqi NGO, founded in 2004 with the goal to save lives and preserve human dignity. MH in partnership with Mercy Corps (MC) is implementing a project in Sinjar Governorate with the aim of Building Resilience Against Violent Extremism (BRAVE) funded by GIZ.

A part of the project consists in providing training sessions for Youth Leader Groups (YLGs) related to PVE (Preventing Violent Extremist), Civic Engagement, and Project Management.

Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Project Manager and the Project Manager Assistant, the 4 trainers will receive training on PVE (Preventing Violent Extremist), Civic Engagement, and Project Management. The training will allow them to ensure high quality training sessions for Youth Leader Groups (YLGs) during the programme.

Responsibilities

  • Attend the 1 week training on PVE (Preventing Violent Extremist), Civic Engagement, and Project Management.
  • Ensure high quality training sessions for Youth Leader Groups (YLGs).
  • Initiate, facilitate and moderate discussions among participants of the training sessions.
  • Evaluate and grade participants’ work.
  • Facilitate & participate in the project’s activity (monitoring & evaluation, logistics, visibility, administration).
  • Assist in translation (Kurmanji / Arabic / English).
  • Minimum level of education: Bachelor Degree in related field.

 

  • Experience & Skills:
    • Previous experience delivering training.
    • Knowledge of PVE (Preventing Violent Extremist), Civic Engagement, and Project Management.
    • Great communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to work independently and within a team.
    • Good computer skills (MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Ability to work in Kurmanji, Arabic and English (written and spoken).
