Job Purpose

 

Reporting to the Community Health Officer, the Community Health
Workers’ (CHWs) Team Leader is responsible to ensure the activities of
CHWs are conducted according to the plan and supervise CHW team in
the field.

 

Main Responsibilities

Lead CHWs and coordinate activities to ensure that CHWs stay

active and productive in the community.
• Help CHWs to disseminate health and hygiene education to
community members at their homes, in the community or at the
supported PHC clinics.
• Organize communication activities such as community meetings,
drama, information campaigns, use of educational materials etc.
• Act as the link between the IMC’s multidisciplinary team and the
affected population at community level by reporting community
comments or complaints, and by spreading information and
performing community mobilization.
• Assist Community Health Officer and other IMC staff in follow-up
trainings on community health topic. Actively participate in
training and other IMC events.
• Help organize weekly meetings in order to report information,
attend training, and receive instructions regarding activities in
the local community.
• Coordinate with the community health Officer and IMC staff
regarding CHW activities and responsibilities

Ensure proper linkages are made between CHWs and other IMC
programs such as health clinics and MHPSS services.
• Gather data and report it on a weekly basis as well as during
periodic surveys and help feed back findings to stakeholders and
the community.
• Help identify key health/MH practices to be addressed and help
to plan and carry out appropriate activities to promote safe
practices, including:
• Act as a spokesperson for the community regarding program
development and evolution.
• Use resources effectively and with care.
• Any other duty assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

  • High School Degree
  • Camp/ local resident (from the
    served community)
  • Basic knowledge of public
    health education methods

Experience

  • At least one year

  • Strong interpersonal and Communication Skills
  • Strong leading skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate flexibility,
    motivation, and maturity
  • Strong ability to organize work ,meet deadlines, prioritize work
    under pressure
  • Good computer skills, able to
    work on Excel and reporting
    sheet
  • Evidence of the practice of a
    high level of confidentiality;
    Strong interpersonal skills and
    work ethic
  • Respect the code of conduct
    and policies of the IMC and the
    standards
