Program Manager – Education


Position Summary

ATAA is seeking an Education Program Manager. S/He will be responsible for developing and managing educational programming as well as assisting with some teaching and serving as a representative of the education sector in ATAA. S/He will ensure that the program is grounded in the needs and embodies the mission and vision of ATAA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


· Able to meet deadlines and ensure completion of projects on schedule

· Experience with volunteer recruitment, training, management, and retention preferred

· Ability to conduct meaningful program evaluations, interpret data, and communicate results

· Able to work and adopt new procedures during insecurity and instability within the project implementation as the case in Syria

· Leadership and Management design, and teaching methodology

· Supervise education program support staff

· Extremely organized, reliable punctual, accurate, and detail-oriented

· Integrity, honesty, good judgement. Respect and discretion in communication with constituents and stakeholders at all levels

Operations & Administration

· Collaborate with internal and external evaluators to track and report program participation and demographics, make continual improvements to programs, and measure program outcomes and impacts

· Develop and manage the education program budget and work plan and master indicators

· Arrange for needed support services for educational

materials and events

· Develop and oversee calendaring and scheduling for trainings, visits, and other events that can support the team in Syria and Turkey

· Maintain departmental responsibilities (meetings, email, phone, etc.)

· Assist with writing grant applications

· Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications

Qualifications

· Master’s Degree, BA preferably in Education/Social Science or equivalent experience

· Written and verbal proficiency in English

· Excellent critical thinking skills

· Ability to prioritize tasks

· Excellent interpersonal and dispute resolution skills

· Excellent organizational skills

· Excellent interpretation skills to guide the Education Team, Networking and coordination skills with relevant ministries, NGOs, INGOs, UN Agencies,

· Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to conduct

outreach, group facilitation, and presentation

· Willingness to travel and have a flexible schedule with some evening and weekend hours

as required

Required Experience

· 5 years’ experience in the field of education program management

· Experience in attending different meetings and taskforces that have technical knowledge in the field of education project management in EIE

· Experience in program design and management (single, multi-sectorial and pilot education projects)

· Demonstrated success in effective management and supervision of staff

· Experience in applying alternative education methods (Distance education, physical, blended; project-based learning)

· Computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Apps

· Financial management and budgeting for a nonprofit project

· Advanced knowledge of early childhood care and development, primary education, basic education and inclusive education.

· Team player, non-discriminatory and gender sensitive
