Jiyan Foundation for Human Rights is a charitable organization supporting survivors of human rights violations, defending fundamental freedoms, and promoting democratic values throughout the world. Our programs provide mental health, medical treatment, and other support services to survivors of trauma, terror, domestic violence, and human rights violations.
We are planning to increase our services for clients in Iraq and are in the process of establishing a center in Baghdad for which we are seeking applications for the following position

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Active participation in setting up office and work procedures in Baghdad;
- Responsible for the coordination, implementation, and reporting of his/her designated project(s);
- Knows proposals, project objectives, and indicators, as well as contracts and donor regulations and guidelines as well reporting deadlines;
- Field visits to project locations for the purpose of monitoring project implementation;
- Keeps track of all expenses and the financial overview of all projects under their coordination;
- Collects data for regular internal reporting and writes monthly internal project reports;
- Writes project report and sends them to the respective donor;
- Supports the Grants Coordinators (GC) with proposal writing;
- Communicates with project staff about the activities in their programs and centers;
- Sets up a comprehensive information sharing and reporting system;
- Communicates with donors regarding the project implementation;
- May liaise with stakeholders and project partners in Iraq and Syria and participate in expert and partner meetings, conferences and other external events on behalf of the DoO;
- Carries out any other relevant duties according to the professional capacities and position in the organization as assigned by the supervisor or line manager in mutual agreement.
- Very good Arabic and English skills in listening, speaking and writing, Kurdish language skills a plus;
- Completed bachelor’s degree or higher for example in English, Business Administration, Social Sciences or similar;
- Preferably with experience with organizational work and/or international NGO work, preferably in the development cooperation sector;
- Preferably with experience in setting up and/or developing office structures.
- Advanced familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (especially MS Word and Excel) and email communication;
- Competence to easily get familiar with online project management tools (like Asana);
- Care for detail and organizational skills, also under time pressure;
- Very good communication skills;
- Readiness to travel, including multi-day trips, both nationally and internationally;
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and international team, cooperation with other staff members, centers and external partners;
- Active interest in promoting human rights and social justice; awareness of current events both nationally and internationally.
