Project Manager
Title of the position: Project Manager

Starting date: A.S.A.P
Fulltime– 10 month’s contract
Summary: Al Khair Humanitarian Organization is a non-governmental organization and non-profit organization based in Maysan province. Al-Khair Humanitarian Organization is currently seeking to appoint a Project Manager to help and assist its activities through the Qudrat project in cooperation with GIZ – PSD and funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union (EU).
The project focus on supporting job seekers and returnees and enhancing their qualification and access to employment. The main objective is to improve the access to employment opportunities, particularly in the private sector for job seekers and returnees in Basra and Diwaniya.
Key duties and responsibilities:
The overall responsibility of the Project Manager will be to:
- Provide overall supervision of the project activities and be the main contact point for the donor and the field staff
- Ensure effective project implementation and compliance with the policies and regulations of the donor organization
- Oversee the execution of project deliverables, lead project planning, budgeting, action plans, monitoring and reporting processes
Project management:
- Responsible for program ongoing management and administration of team and activities, ensuring mechanisms for effective adaptive management with the donor regulations.
- Lead the team development of detailed implementation plans.
- Ensure program objectives and deadlines have tracked and met.
- Ensure grant agreement are have monitored and comply with donor policies and procedures.
- Oversee and cover all aspects of monitoring and evaluation.
- Ensure all program aspects have documented and archived according to internal/donor requirements.
- Oversee all aspects of gender; equity and social inclusion have mainstreamed into the project.
Team Management:
- Supervise and manage all program staff to ensure day-to-day activities have implemented in a coordinated synergy according to schedule, budget and quality.
- Create and sustain a work environment conducive to professional growth and of mutual respect where team members strive to achieve excellence.
- Promote accountability, communicate expectations, and set a team culture valuing learning and adaptive management in support of donor technical staff.
Accountability / Reporting:
- Ensure all program documentation including (monthly reports, weekly plan, pictures, videos, final report, database, special reports, success stories, etc) are have produced at a high level of quality and as required and delivered on time.
Coordination and Representation:
- Establish and maintain relationships with communities and local government.
- Ensure close coordination and information sharing with youth & sport forum & MoDM and local government.
- Liaise with and represent the program to government actors, partners, and other stakeholders in Basra.
- Attend all the required meeting with governmental actors and Donor.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in NGO sector.
- Professional experience in program management and managing a team.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with host governments, donors, other stakeholders, and partners.
- Strong problem-solving skills and effective listening, negotiation and representation skills, analytical skills, and the ability to work comfortably with an ethnically diverse staff in a sensitive environment.
- Excellent English language skills.
- Excellent ICT skills with G suite office.
